Volunteers
2008 was the first year I got involved with the Love in a Box operation. There are many different areas where volunteers can help. These range from checking each shoe box to make sure the items in there are suitable for the gender and age of the children.
This is done in the Warehouse in Eastbourne. There is also packing of the shoe boxes into big boxes which are then transported across the country.
They are then moved abroad to various different countries such as Ukraine and Romania. From there it is then transported to the underprivileged children. Others can help by becoming coordinators for Love in a Box through various collection points throughout the country.
The warehouse generally opens from 10am-4pm Monday to Friday. Any time a volunteer can give is greatly appreciated. It is a great feeling when you give your own time knowing there are others like you who are all part of a team helping to make a difference. These underprivileged children really don't have much at all so to get a present on Christmas Day is very special for them.
